Concept
Richard Schultz worked with Harry Bertoia on the development of an iconic seating collection in steel rod. A few years later, Florence Knoll asked Schultz to create a collection of outdoor furnishings that would stand up to intensive use in the open air. The result was the “Leisure Collection,” now known as the “1966 Collection,” the first contemporary line for outdoor use, and an immediate design classic.
The collection designed by Schultz, with structure in white or onyx color, includes the 1966 square or rectangular table with porcelain steel top, the 1966 chair, with or without armrests, the 1966 chaise longue, with or without adjustable back, the 1966 armchair and the 1966 square end table.
