Cruck

Ceramic tiles from KAZA, Designed by Levi Fignar

Product description

Buckminster Fuller, impactful thinker and architect of our time, committed his life to examining the principles governing the universe and helping to determine the advancement of human evolution in accordance with these; searching and finding ways to do more with less. As a homage to Fuller’s oeuvre, designer Levi Fignar created Cruck, a contemporary concrete tile design for Kaza, launched onto the world stage on a feature wall of Tent London in 2014. Emerging from a series of experiments based on the rules of organic geometry, Cruck displays an exciting, visual equilibrium. It balances the strict regularity of the hexagonal shape with the roundedness of the central element which acts as the heart of the whole. Triangular surfaces create a captivating, cracked reflection of the surrounding lights and shapes.
