Product description

Italian architect, sculptor, and designer Angelo Mangiarotti was renowned for his honest design and appreciation of fine crafts-manship. Beyond his many architectural feats, his work includes a wide array of creative projects ranging from sculptures to products and lamps.
Mangiarotti designed the Saffo Lamp in 1966, and now, Karakter is bringing the iconic mushroom-shaped lamp back into production.
Made of blown glass, the Saffo spreads a soft light that enhances the many material characteristics of the glass. The white glass in the bottom elegantly hides the light source and as the shape of the mushroom starts to form, the white glass smoothly blends into
transparent and makes way for the light. The sculptural qualities of the Saffo Lamp make it a spectacular design object whether turned on or off.
