Sticklight floor lamp
Architonic ID: 1105060
Concept
The classic that has captivated since its initial launch in 1997, is back with a new technical specification. Standing at nearly 2 meters tall the giant sculptural shape is more relevant than ever for both interior and exterior applications.
To fully take advantage of Sticklight’s unique diffuser, the team had to create a special LED fitting that could diffuse the output into a uniform light around the circumference of the floor-light, yet still fit neatly inside its tapering form. The floor-light is also dimmable via remote control and is rated up to IP57 for water ingress.

Michael Young is considered one of the most successful and influential designers of his generation. After graduating in 1992 from the industrial design course at Kingston University, Young worked on several production pieces and infiltrated the international design scene with one-man shows in Paris and Tokyo. After opening the MY-022 Ltd design offices in London in 1995, Young set up a shop in Iceland and then moved to Belgium where a further design outfit was inaugurated. Young’s wanderlust has most recently taken him to Hong Kong where he has become a creative consultant for Radio Shack. Previous clients have included Kreo, Swedese, Rosenthal, Cappellini and Schweppes. More recently Young completed a series of new designs for French fashion brand Lacoste and, to accompany his first MY branded products, the Iconic PXR-5 and USB bracelet, a new range of barware will go on international release distributed by Innermost.
