Concept

Maruni is a manufacturer of karakami papers used for fusuma (sliding doors) and traditional Japanese screens. Using a variety of printing techniques, including woodcutting, Maruni has an archive of over 300 antique designs. For this collaborative project with Formel studio, Maruni proposes a light suspension with a removable shade made of karakami paper.
