Product description

About a Lounge Chair has a compact body that offers a warm embrace and almost draws you into a conversation with this sensitive creature. This version, with legs made of round wooden poles, is available in a low-backed or high-backed version. In the high-backed version the construction is made of straps, which makes the seat softer and eliminates the need for a cushion – it’s all up to you.

About a Lounge Chair has a strong signature expression and a keen sense of proportions with its late-modern references and contemporary textural qualities.

About a Lounge Chair appears as a sculpture in space with its beautiful back, where the stitching helps define a graphic line that appears subtle or striking, depending on your choice of upholstery. The high-backed About a Lounge Chair is designed to form a whole with About an Ottoman, but even though a place to put up your feet does hold obvious appeal, About a Lounge Chair also works fine in its own right, without the foot stool.

Concept

The idea behind the About A Chair-collection has been to develop a chair with conspicuous simplicity. The ambition has been to combine form, function, comfort, detail and aesthetics.

About A Lounge Chair has clear references to the rest of the family. The low lounge chair is open and inviting to dialog whilst the high lounge chair has the function of a comfortable nest. About A Chair is the product of close collaboration between designer Hee Welling and HAY aspiring to create a family of chairs so versatile that there can be one suitable for any location or home – private or public – without compromising quality and perfection.
