Sweet Shōri

Storage boxes from HANDS ON DESIGN, Designed by Alessandro Stabile

Product description

Sugar bowl in Sawara cypress wood. Dimensions: 10x10x9cm - 3,9x3,9x3,5in. Made in Japan. Manufacture: Shuji Nakagawa for HoD.

Concept

Shōri is a reinterpretation of the Ohitsu, the traditional Japanese rice container. The heart of the project is the V-shaped knob on the lid; this allows, during use on the table, to hook the lid to the container avoiding to occupy further space on the top and when it is closed it host the spoon which is perpendicular to it, finding its perfect position. In the smaller Sweet Shōri version, it is perfect as a sugar bowl.
