Loom chair by Ptolemy Mann

Chairs from H Furniture, Designed by Hierve, Ptolemy Mann

Product description

British artist and textiles designer Ptolemy Mann provides a new take on H Furniture´s Loom chair.
The Loom chair has a very specific inspiration — a small manual belt-making loom discovered in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico. Threads of elastic polyester woven cord are stretched to create the seating area and back rest, providing a very comfortable seating experience.
Mann’s input takes the texture of the threaded cords to another dimension, introducing intriguing pattern and colour combinations to the mix. Her woven compositions are available in creatively combined shades of green, deep blue and yellow.
The chair frame has been carved by a computer-controlled CNC machine, for a super accurate finish. The chairs are sanded and finished by hand. The chair is available in a choice of solid oak or American walnut.
