Concept

The Gubi Chair, designed by Komplot Design, was the first furniture design to be based on the innovative technique of moulding three-dimensional veneer. The 3D design gives the chair comfort and a sense of lightness – with all edges pointing away from the user. The thickness of the veneer is reduced to half of that normally used due to the very strong 3D design. The Gubi Chair is included in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection.

The Gubi Chair is available with four different bases; sledge base, wood base, center base and swivel base and four types of shell; veneer, HiRek PP plastic, fully upholstered and front-upholstered.

MATERIAL
The shell is available in a HiRek PP plastic, veneer of American walnut, oak or black painted beech, fully upholstered or front-upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and leathers.

The base is made of American walnut, oak or black painted beech, sledge base in chrome and black painted steel, swivel base in chrome and center base in black painted steel.

COLOUR
HiRek: black, shy cherry, orange sweet, venetian gold, mistletoe green, midnight grey, blue morning, nightfall blue, rainy grey, misty grey, grey moon, white cloud and white.

Veneer: American walnut, oak or black stained beech.

Fully upholstered and front-upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and leather. The front-upholstered chair is available with HiRek or veneer back.
