Low table with a fluid aspect inspired by the organic form of an oyster shell.
The base, made up of an oval basin in transparent extralight glass with mirrored bottom, is created by moulding a flat slab of 12 mm glass through a complex heat treatment and trimming the perimeter to shape.
The top, placed on the basin, is in laminated glass 6+6 mm. in extralight mirror finish which fades in a circular way, emphasizing the transparent round area.
The top is also available with an opening next to the transparent area, through which you can access the inside of the basin, and use it as flower box, terrarium (planter) or storage/display unit.

“Nacre (nay-ker): also known as Mother of Pearl. The process involves layer upon layer of coating until a uniquely shaped pearl is formed. It is strong, resilient, and iridescent with an opalescent appearance.
The NACRE coffee table is an artistic and innovative statement piece designed for Glas Italia. Inspired by the organic form of an oyster shell, the collection is constructed from two delicate sheets of heated glass, intricately bonded together by hand for precision. Through experimenting with the limits of heat tension and gravity, a new halfway point was discovered to mold the asymmetrical form and fluid shape of the glass cavity. Nacre has a light and elegant quality that heightens the overall experience in any setting”
