Product description

Folding chair in solid walnut canaletto wood and metal parts in a bronze colour. It is available all in walnut canaletto, with a slat seat, or with seat and armrests upholstery, or with just the seat cushion. The upholstery in fabric or leather is completely removable and detachable, and the padding is in expanded polyurethane.

Concept

The Grand Tour design by Paolo Suman elegantly references the seventeenth century custom for young aristocrats to travel overseas, in order to broaden their cultural horizons. This transportable, folding chair calls to mind the idea of furnishings able to recreate home comforts anywhere. Made of solid walnut canaletto wood upholstered in removable fabric and leather, it is symbolic of simple style but with a wealth of functional solutions. The solid but flexible backrest reveals extraordinary woodworking knowledge and accentuates the unexpected potential offered by technological innovation applied to artisan manufacture. The Grand Tour armchair is combined with a table, also transportable, which features repeating rectangular sections.
