Concept

Tubular steel classics - elegant set tables B 9

During his time at the Bauhaus, Marcel Breuer experimented with steel and tubular steel by logically transferring the principles of the use of materials corresponding to their properties for furniture making from woodworking to this new material. Being in the vicinity of the Junkers facility in Dessau was an enormous advantage for this process. The nesting tables B 9, various shelves and side furniture were among his first designs. The catalog from 1930/31 included the complete range. B 9 nesting tables were used in the cafeteria of Walter Gropius’ Bauhaus building in Dessau. Today, these elegant tables find their place in residential or contract environments.

B 9 a-d: Side furniture in 4 different sizes, available individually or as a set. B 9 d/1 with additional shelf. Frames tubular steel chrome-plated or lacquered in various colors, wooden parts in stained beech, lacquered or structured coating in various colors. Also available in "Pure Materials" versions – oiled oak and walnut, nickel-plated frame. Chromed version also available with glass tabletop.
