Certified tropical hardwood is used to produce the VALENCIA planters. This means that the hardwood was legally harvested and has durability class 2. Because hardwood is very durable, it does not require any additional treatment. These planters are constructed with stainless steel fasteners and the inside is covered with anti-root cloth.
