A modular chair made up of components that can be quickly and easily interchanged. The seat and backrest are composed of two blocks of moulded polyurethane with an internal metal structure. Upholstery also forms part of this block and is joined to the foam using the INTEGRAL FORM system, without seams or stitching. A 5-mm fire barrier (TS System) is incorporated between foam and upholstery on both the seat and the backrest to prevent fire from reaching the foam, delaying the spread of flames and emission of toxic gases. Backrest padding is anatomically contoured and incorporates grooves in a ‘T’ form. Seat padding is also anatomically contoured, with a completely smooth, groove-free surface to prevent accumulation of dirt. The back surfaces of the seat and backrest are protected by shells injected with IF727 material. These shells are fully washable and protect upholstery. The seat folds automatically using a double-spring system contained within the shell (tested at 500,000 cycles). The system does not require lubrication or maintenance. Each chair is mounted on a central pedestal. This pedestal is attached to an internal bridge that links the individual units to form rows that are completely rigid and stable. Pedestals are made of tubular steel finished in black epoxy paint. If necessary, the base of the pedestal can be adjusted to the slope of the hall where seating is installed. Chair arms are made of polyurethane foam with an internal metal structure. Side frames are also finished in polyurethane, textured with circular forms. Perforations on the shell of the seat improve acoustic absorption when chairs are unoccupied. PLX – new anti-panic system for writing tablets. When chairs are vacated, writing tablets are automatically stored in the side frame. This clears the way for users in the event that the space needs to be evacuated in an emergency. This folding movement is rapid and precise thanks to a new hinge system that facilitates synchronized turning on two axes. The system is maintenance-free.
