Concept
The Chapter House Benches were originally designed for the Worcester Art Museum‘s 12th-century Chapter House.
Deconstructed stone by stone and transported to the Worcester Art Museum in 1927 from the Benedictine Priory of Saint John in west-central France, the Chapter House once was a gathering space where the monks broke their vow of silence and were allowed to converse and talk about non-secular topics.
Moving forward to the 21st century, our constellation of chairs once again encourages dialogue and contemplation.
Due to its simple yet inviting design, the Chapter House Benches would also fit to any public or private space where a sensual and poetic dimension is welcome.
Avaibable in Walnut, oiled finish.
All models are high quality manufactured on demand in Germany.
Other constellations, as well as other types of wood and finishes, on request.

While the old and traditional served as the basis for the new and the innovative, these highly inviting and joyful conversational structures blend the intimate with the public, the historical with contemporary art and design, and the ordered with the random.
