Concept
LÍMITE CILÍNDRICO is a modular granite grey cast stone element designed to act as a boundary for parterres, garden zones and pedestrian crossings segregated from road traffic. Its geometry consists of a trapezoidal base embedded flush with the pavement, from which an 18 cm diameter cylinder emerges to ease a height difference or mark off different areas of public space. The 4 cm separation between the cylinders facilitates rainwater drainage and permits its adaptation to subtle changes in alignment and small changes in pavement height.
LÍMITE CILÍNDRICO was designed in 1998 by architects Albert Viaplana and Helio Piñón in conjunction with Escofet.
