Dornbracht brings the future into the bathroom, with Smart Water
Dornbracht presents a new technology that integrates the numerous options for digitisation in the bathroom (and kitchen): Smart Water. An intelligent system that networks the components in the bathroom with one another, while conveniently simplifying and individualising the applications involved: the future of bathroom and kitchen culture.
The world has changed. Not only does rapid digital change play a role, but the megatrend of healthiness which also influences our life. So how should products and systems be designed to provide the best possible support for our lives? At Dornbracht, the constant search for answers now results in a system that begins with individual needs and transposes visionary technology to the bathroom and kitchen with Smart Water.
Smart Water stands for the vision of enlisting the numerous possibilities for digitisation of applications in the bathroom (and kitchen), and advancing these even further. Smart Water is based on the Smart Tools that Dornbracht has developed to redefine convenience, safety and the dimensions of experience in the bathroom and kitchen. With a single flick of the wrist, two control dials control the exact temperature and water volume. The easy-to-read display switch can be used to call up useful pre-programmed settings and helpful functions for everyday applications. Even complex choreographies with multiple outlets, such as the Sensory Sky shower application introduced at ISH, can be regulated using Smart Tools.
The decentralised arrangement of the controls is particularly unique and gives added convenience: for the first time, it is possilbe to separate the installation of controls and water outlet. A universal language of form can be combined across multiple designs and series, giving maximum diversity of design and individually tailored, architectural solutions.
For all that, operating the Smart Tools couldn't be easier: no complicated menus, and instead an intuitive and understandable application logic in keeping with the Smart Water message: 'Hot, cold, click'. Dornbracht develops the hardware and software itself. This way, the producer can provide the market with software updates and hardware upgrades in future as well.
”The bathroom is becoming digital,” Andreas Dornbracht explains. ”Even today, Smart Tools are the foundation for the bathroom and the kitchen of tomorrow.“ In this way, Smart Water is only just embarking on a new digital future. As an innovator and pioneer in the industry, Dornbracht will continue to advance this development and set new standards for product and system solutions in the bathroom and kitchen. A new era in bathroom and kitchen architecture is beginning.
Smart Water will be introduced at ISH 2013 and available from mid-2013.
