Concept

A chair whose design leaves not a single wish unfulfilled. Developed by Werner Aisslinger in collaboration with de Sede, the DS-143 is uncompromising down to the smallest detail. Although its streamlined form is the very essence of purity, it still provides an absolute maximum of seating comfort. And it nonchalantly refutes even more apparent contradictions, being at the same time both restrained and supremely confident of itself – just like its big brother the DS-144 lounge chair. Its clear angular surfaces give the DS-143 a sculptural quality that makes it an appropriate choice for contemporary living environments and demanding contract projects alike. An invitation to sit down, lean back and relax, it is equally eye-catching whether covered in powerful colours or a more muted design, allowing its aesthetically pleasing impact to be made entirely through its shape and its sublime leather. Individuality can be underscored by decorative stitching in contrasting colours or by the shade chosen to paint its star-base. The lines of this base alone make it a dazzling feature even in a classic high-gloss polished finish. All these elegant details imbue the powerful presence of the DS-143 with a lightness that renders it truly irresistible.
