Concept

The inspiration for Arkiturbine comes from a fundamental fascination for aesthetics, the dynamics of construction, and asymmetry. A focal point for Hans Christian Asmussen has been the asymmetry of a turbine, while the aesthetics of airships have been important sources of inspiration throughout the design process. The Arkiturbine is created through a fully digital fabrication process that challenges the conventional way of designing lamps. Its construction is simple and easily understood, but the resulting appearance is surprising.

The aluminum frame is assembled without the use of any screws, bolts or welds. The flawless design holds this construction together effortlessly. The laser-cut blades are made from UV-resistant, industrial-grade vinyl, which gives off a pleasing, warm, defuse light. The emitted light highlights the design elements of the frame by creating a playful shadow effect.
The Arkiturbine creates atmosphere in any room.
