Cubit Sofa

Sofas from Cubit, Designed by Olaf Schroeder

Product description

Concept

In 2015 Cubit, the specialty label for modular furniture, launched a modular sofa system to accompany the Cubit shelving system that was introduced back in 2007. The concept of industrial designer Olaf Schroeder invokes the basic criteria that define Cubit products: outstanding functionality, material quality and aesthetics. For this Cubit product line, too, the purist design renders possible a variety that is, however, never arbitrary. The Cubit sofa is produced exclusively at sites in Germany; it is suitable for both private and public spaces.

Back module, Recamiere, corner module, armchair and pouf: Five modules form the basis of a sofa that can be custom-designed for individual tastes. The basic module comes with two seat heights and, in part, with three backrest and four armrest heights; these form a congenial union with the many widths and depths of the seat. The result is more than 300 different basic module formats. These elements, made of high-quality and robust material, are connected with an L-shaped bentwood element.

Personal taste, comfort and practicality are equally critical for the design of a sofa that can be rearranged over and over again: solo, as a sofa or as a whole seating ensemble for your lounge. The modules are lightweight, not connected with one another, and have a non-slip base - they stay where they’re put.

The precisely tailored definition of its dimensions is what lends every chair its individuality. An exclusive range of fabrics gives the modular sofa from Cubit the ideal finish. Fabrics from European manufacturers De Ploeg, Fidivi and Rohi underline the distinctive character of each piece. What they all have in common is high quality and a precision fit, along with the fact that, as covers, they can be removed for cleaning. And the cushions - in 16 different formats - are available in these same fabrics. Yet the really special thing is this: The double cushion. It functions as a knee or head support - or as an innovative decorative item.

In a nutshell: 300 different formats of the five basic modules are possible, coordinated fabric lines from European manufacturers, tool-free assembly and conversion, 16 cushion formats and a fair price-performance ratio, since planning, ordering and payment all take place online.
