Product description
Level is to be found wherever a functional table is needed and it can be combined with benches, chairs or bar stools. Open space concepts focus on transparency. And yet there are moments when people prefer to work alone, or at least slightly shielded from their surroundings. The new, angled upholstered panels create such retreats. Mounted on the right or left side of the tabletop, they create an aesthetic privacy screen – beautiful and discreet.
Concept
Level, designed by Uwe Fischer, is a family of height-adjustable worktables that are quite unpretentiously committed to the idea of a workbench. This gave rise to a tool with “trestle-like substructures”. A highly functional item that adheres fully to the tradition of modernism and brings its functions clearly to the fore. Working while standing is becoming more and more popular “because it most closely corresponds to the fleetingness and speed that work involves,” says Fischer. The change becomes the actual constant. A quick meeting. Then the table top is lowered. Then it’s time for a snack. Here, too, we meet for an exchange, this time quite informally.
Where would you like to work, we asked Uwe Fischer. The Professor of Industrial Design at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts replied: “In a place where it is possible to change inspiration and concentration.” Level is such a place. It combines steel and wood, and it connects people, but does not dictate how they should interact. And so the meeting table becomes a bistro table—and transforms itself back again.
