Chaise longues from Cassina, Designed by Charlotte Perriand

Product description

Concept

The first edition of a project that has never been released (1940)

Charlotte Perriand originally conceived Tokyo when she lived and worked in Japan. It was a re-interpretation in bamboo of the renowned LC4, a poetic synthesis between human rationalism and nature. Cassina now offers the design in several types of wood: bamboo, teak and beech.
Tokyo. An organic shape; sinuous and inviting. A piece of design history, superbly extolling Cassina’s time-honoured mastery of woodwork. A dynamic vision from a Modernist Master; all elements combine in perfect harmony, to be admired and enjoyed on a veranda, terrace or at outdoor cafés and gazebos. The timeless vitality of the authentic classics is perfectly expressed. These are not museum pieces, frozen at their point of conception, but powerful human works that constantly yield new discoveries to those who understand and interpret them. They represent a balanced synergy of culture and nature.
