209 Valor.s

Table lights from Cassina, Designed by Philippe Starck

Product description

Concept

Valor.s is the table lamp and applique designed by Philippe Starck as a tribute to Vallauris, a tiny village on the French Riviera where, after World War II, Pablo Picasso and many other artists, including Marc Chagall, Jean Cocteau, Jean Marais, Jean Lurçat, Georges Jouve and Roger Capron took up residence "to reveal to the world the beauty of enamelled ceramics," as the French designer himself likes to say. Starck interprets that period with his own personal, present-day yet, timeless approach to the malleable material used by the great artists and painted by hand. The table lamp and applique are characterized by their smooth, organic shape and lively colours that include ivory white, orange, green, gold and silver.
