A strong personality that is always in movement, as if it were walking: this is how the Belgian designer Alain Gilles sees the Big Table, which he has designed for Bonaldo. Big Table is a large, functional table which, although created in traditional materials like steel, wood and glass, is characterised by extremely original design, so much so that the perception of the product changes depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
The legs are laser-cut steel plates and each one has a different width that highlights the different shades and nuances. Big Table is available in four colour versions: with white legs, multicoloured (coral red, orange, green and lilac), in a combination of browns and greys (powder pink, brown, dove grey and amaranth) and, news 2012, anthracite grey. The rectangular table top can be fixed or extendable. In the extendable version, the top and extensions are made from a single piece of black walnut veneer in order to ensure continuity in the wood grain between the parts.
Big Table has won the Good Design Award 2009.
