High Back Lounge Chair

The design challenge: to create lounge seating that is comfortable and inviting, yet elegant and sharp. The 5 Series achieves this through a system of layered cushions that become softer as they move closer to the body.

The outermost layer is comprised of rigid panels constructed of wood framing, webbing and dense foam covered in leather. This “shell” is suspended in an exposed solid wood frame – revealing its structural honesty and achieving the appearance of a “floating” seat. The seat and back are angled for ergonomic balance and ultimate comfort – allowing the user to sink into the seat rather than perching.

Seat and back cushions form the next layer and are comprised of variable density foam core with down surround. Each cushion is hand sewn, tufted and welted using four separate panels of leather stitched with an inverted or “invisible” seam construction.

Lumbar and bolster cushions complete the final, softest layer and are comprised of 100% down fill. These cushions are loose and removable.

Unlike most leather used in furniture manufacturing, BassamFellows never “paints” or coats the leather to mask quality imperfections. Leather is tanned using all-natural vegetable processes. The result: more transparency and “life” in the leather, and longer lasting, natural beauty.

The 5 Series lounge seating is suitable for both residential or contract use.
