Palladio | Shelves

Product description

The open Palladio Shelves cabinet is designed by the Swedish architects Claesson Koivisto Rune. The legs connecting the shelves follow the same technique as the Palladio table program. The characteristics, of the strong and almost impossibly simple joint between a flat surface and the support, are the same as for the tables. Yet the architectural connotations are even more present in the shelves.
Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune were inspired by architect Le Corbusier. They explain: ‘In 1914, Le Corbusier studied reinforced concrete as a building material. It inspired him to design the legendary Dom-Ino House, an early example of a reinforced concrete slabs and columns construction principle. Today we call this design open plan. Our Palladio shelves share the same beauty of order without the need of any further decoration.’

Construction:
The Palladio Shelves are available in two heights and versions: 53 cm or 90 cm and various widths 140, 180, 200 or 230 cm., pill shaped and rectangle. The shelves are manufactured in oak veneer with a standard oil finish, standard veneer or lacquered with textured lacquer that complements the powder-coat textures. The legs come in brushed stainless steel, polished stainless steel or with a structure powder-coat.
