Two Elements Table made of reclaimed wood

Dining tables from Anton Doll

Product description

This handmade table captivates by the unique character given by the story of the old wood’s individual past. We source our reclaimed wood fromold half-timbered houses and barns. At the time, carpenters did not use a saw, cutting the beams out of the tree trunks with a hatchet. The irregular edges on the long sides of the table displays this traditional craftsmanship remarkably. The massive tabletop made of reclaimed oak is supported by a black steel base. Unevenness and cracks in the old wood are filled by hand with black epoxyresin in an elaborate process. Our tables‘ typical velvety smooth feel is achieved by sanding the tabletop several times. The combination of this extravagant reclaimed oak tabletop with an understated solid steel frame creates a very harmonious and stylish piece of furniture. A pollutant-free wood oil enhances the surface, conferring the oak its unique colouring. This finishing touch also acts as a protection from moisture and dust.

Concept

The Two Elements product family combines two materials to create design furniture with industrial charm. Black steel and velvety polished wood combine to create extravagant harmony.
This product family owes its name to Chinese philosophy, in which wood stands for spring and a new beginning, while metal represents ripeness and harvest.
