ADS360 and designer Philip Ross introduce the Theremin: A unique floor lamp that combines powerful light, versatile functionality, and magical gesture control. Five simple gestures provide endless variations of light patterns reflected off of your wall to light up any area of the room. Dimming is a movement of the hand toward or away from the antenna of the luminaire. The design is sleek and modern, with a beautiful thick square black rubber wood base with rounded corners and a slim black nickel finished metal pole which houses a 31.75" tall frosted shade. This thin, 1" x 1.25" oval pole emits 2,500 lumens of warm, ambient lighting.

Concept

The Theremin combines three special features: Powerful room-filling light, maximum flexibility, and a magical way to adjust light using hand gestures. The Theremin enables you to fingerpaint light on your walls, as it were. The Theremin is named after a legendary musical instrument, invented by Leon Theremin in 1919. This musical instrument translated movements of the hands around an antenna into vibrant tones. The Theremin lamp does the same with light: Its light antenna shines light to wherever you hold your hand, giving maximum freedom to create light settings that fit your own needs and wishes best. The design is simple and unobtrusive, consisting of a sleek antenna and a friendly wooden base, fitting in many styles of interiors. Despite of its sleek appearance, no compromise is done on performance: Its powerful LEDs direct light in three directions (up, left and right) and produce a warm white light that fills up your space in an atmospheric and functional way.
