Studio 13 Architects has reimagined WAT Motor’s Istanbul office with a flexible, innovative layout that emphasizes circular motion, energy efficiency, and acoustic harmony. Through modular designs, the office fosters a warm and comfortable environment, perfect for collaboration and focused work.

As a leading motor company in Turkey, WAT Motor is dedicated to producing durable and highly efficient motors and drives. The design concept we developed draws inspiration from the electric motor’s working principles, incorporating elements such as circular motion, flow, energy, sustainability, and efficiency. These concepts guided us in creating a dynamic, flexible workspace within the open office, with the organic flow of circular movement influencing the design language.

The shift to hybrid working has transformed not only the spaces where we work, but how we work. To accommodate this change, we’ve created a variety of workspaces for WAT employees, ranging from collaborative team zones to private, focused areas. Modular furniture makes these spaces easily adaptable, allowing teams to adjust the layout to meet their evolving needs.

To ensure acoustic comfort, sound-absorbing panels have been strategically placed throughout the office. A warm, inviting atmosphere is created through the use of contrasting color blocks, inspired by WAT’s brand heritage. The color palette, which blends WAT's corporate colors in pastel, offers a harmonious and calming environment. The result is a workspace where employees can comfortably work in privacy or come together as a team, finding their ideal space to thrive.
