Located on the northern coast of Bodrum, Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort is not merely a holiday destination but a testament to sustainable and contemporary architectural design that harmonizes with nature. Designed by GEOMIM, this project masterfully blends natural elements with modern hospitality concepts, reinterpreting the living traditions unique to the Aegean region.

A Layout in Harmony with Nature

The layout of Maxx Royal Bodrum meticulously follows the natural topography, ensuring seamless integration between the built environment and the surrounding landscape. The resort’s fragmented structures organically extend along the bay, offering aesthetic appeal and functional design. Suites, lagoon rooms, family rooms, and villas are positioned to embrace the scenery, reflecting the essence of Aegean living.

The Calming Influence of Water

Water plays a central role in the resort’s design, inspired by the idea of extending the natural beauty of Cennet Bay into its social areas and accommodations. Water elements flow harmoniously along the property’s slopes, reaching the verandas of lagoon rooms and establishing a strong connection between the structures and nature. The central lagoon area reimagines the traditional “pond” concept as a “bay,” reflecting a commitment to sustainable design principles and enhancing the overall guest experience with tranquility and immersion.

Sustainability and Innovative Approaches

The design of Maxx Royal Bodrum prioritizes minimizing environmental impact. Approximately 95% of existing materials were reused as aggregate in new construction, reducing waste and conserving natural resources. The landscaping emphasizes biodiversity, incorporating local plant species and efficient irrigation systems, while recycled water from gray water systems is utilized for irrigation, boosting water efficiency. Green roofs throughout the resort reduce the heat island effect, naturally cool the buildings, and create additional green spaces for guests to enjoy. These efforts align with LEED Platinum certification standards, focusing on energy and water efficiency, indoor air quality, and maximizing views of the natural surroundings.

Locally sourced stone and wood enrich the resort’s aesthetic, achieving a balance between visual appeal and energy efficiency. The simple yet impactful entrance design and structures positioned to maximize natural light showcase a seamless fusion of environmental sensitivity and elegant design.

Maxx Royal Bodrum also stands out for its interior design features. Artstone provided bespoke wall surfaces for 291 rooms and spa areas, across three distinct concepts. This production, spanning 25,000 m², was completed with meticulous research and development and delivered within a short timeframe, adding significant value to the project.
