The LED L&L Luce&Light lighting systems were chosen for the Dar il-Hanin Samaritan in Santa Venera, on Malta.
The space was designed by local architect Richard England. The members of the M.U.S.E.U.M., a local Christian community founded at the beginning of the 20th century, use its conference halls and offices. The function of this building was envisioned as a highly meditative space.
Light Design Solutions (Malta) planned all lighting operations for the project. The L&L systems were used to underscore the pensive peace and quiet in the indoor and outdoor spaces. The outdoor areas were enhanced by staging different scenography elements, mainly using warm white lights in contrast to the cool lights used to light up the bodies of water. The spaces present traditional solutions used for lighting pavements, stairs and fountains, living side-by-side to quite the eccentric additions. A stellar example are the columns adorned with 3D elements and the shadows falling suggestively across the courtyard, shaped by lighting up the contours of the present trees.
