In the Heart of Cilento, a 1970s Villa Becomes an Oasis of Peace and Nature
Located just a few meters from the sea, in the stunning Cilento National Park, Angel’s House is a 1970s villa recently renovated by interior designer Biancamaria Santangelo and architect Stefania Ugliano of Nabi Interior Design Studio in Naples.
Redesigned to enhance the region's idyllic green landscapes, the villa is now the perfect retreat for those seeking comfort, elegance, and above all, a connection with nature. The restoration project was driven by the designers' and owner's shared vision to visually erase the distance from the sea and let nature take center stage in everyday living.
Angel’s House is an extraordinary example of how contemporary architecture and design can celebrate and respect the natural beauty of a place. Thanks to the addition of large windows, the ground floor, an open space that includes the kitchen and living area, opens up to the magnificent surroundings of Cilento. The villa’s white structure is beautifully complemented by the vibrant colors of the landscape, blending seamlessly with blue, yellow, and green furnishings.
The outdoor spaces are defined by an elegant patio shaded by an awning and framed by lush plants, creating a welcoming and relaxing environment. Here, the furniture plays a key role: while the architectural intent is to bring the outdoors in, it’s equally true that the indoors continue to flow seamlessly outdoors.
The choice fell on Atmosphera – Soul of Outdoor, an Italian brand that brings the comfort of indoor living to outdoor spaces, offering refined and elegant designs that integrate discreetly with the architecture while maintaining a close dialogue with nature.
All Atmosphera furnishings prioritize the use of natural, durable materials that are perfectly suited for outdoor spaces. For the larger terrace, the Laguna modular sofa, a versatile seating system with a sophisticated look, was chosen alongside Smart, a low table with a powder-coated aluminum frame that boasts a natural aesthetic. They are accompanied by Trio, a minimalist and practical side table designed for everyday use.
For the smaller terrace, the choice was the Soft modular sofa with its matching pouf, embodying carefree comfort. Filled with polystyrene microspheres enclosed in a technical, breathable, and draining fabric cover, it’s the perfect outdoor furnishing thanks to its quick-drying feature.
Atmosphera – Soul of Outdoor also adds its unique touch to the dining area with Eden chairs, which feature an aluminum frame and teak armrest detail, ensuring comfort, practicality, and elegance.
On the upper floor, the villa boasts five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and independent balconies, designed to reflect the unique personalities of the guests while maintaining the overall harmony that defines the space.
