Our Signature Ottawa rug captures Canada’s capital city nestled in a bend in the Ottawa River. This large square rug frames the winding waterway that separate Ottawa from Gatineau in the French-speaking province of Quebec. From this aerial perspective, one can see the impact the river had on urban development. Ottawa and Gatineau are both dominated by rectangular street grids more common to North American cities. But those grids do not align with one another, rather they are aligned to opposing bends in the riverbank, giving each side a distinction. The heart of Ottawa houses Canada’s Parliament Buildings, a group of Gothic Revival structures with oxidized green copper roofs. Our Signature Ottawa rug is speckled with a spectrum of Oxidized Copper greens over a plush, neutral grey wool. The colorway highlights these significant copper-clad structures that dominate Ottawa’s skyline.
The Signature rug is tufted at multiple cut pile heights with 100% New Zealand wool, then hand-carved to give the urban pattern a plush, 3D relief texture. Customized size, color or shape available by request.
