Concept
The designer, Kensaku Oshiro, creator of the iconic Holo and Holo Pillar tables, has now designed a collection of seats inspired by Japanese aesthetics and cabinet-making. The signature feature of the chair and armchair is a backrest with organic lines that rests delicately on the frame, like a dragonfly — “Tonbo”, in Japanese. The special rounded joints are what creates this delicate effect. The frame is made of solid ash wood whereas the seat is padded and upholstered in fabric or leather.

Born in Okinawa in 1977, Oshiro graduated from Polytechnic School of Milan in 1999, and started his career in several design studios. At the moment he is working at Lissoni Associates, As well as collaborating as an indipendent designer for different companies.
