Tables that anchor comfortable settings
Extending the idea of comfort that inspired designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub to create their Striad Lounge Chair, coordinating Striad Tables bring a confident presence to a variety of work settings. Tops are fixed at just the right heights for supporting laptops and other work tools, with a choice of USB units or other power options available to keep tools powered without compromising the warm, residential appeal. Bases share the same sleek profile and materiality as the Striad Lounge Chair’s four-star base.
Concept
"Inspired by the construction of high-performance ski boots, Stuttgart-based designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub designed the Striad Lounge Chair and Ottoman in layers to deliver a premium experience of comfort. The outermost layer, a rigid shell, is merged with an inner shell constructed of a natural fiber composite material, which is then fully upholstered. Individually upholstered dual-density foam cushions form the third layer, resulting in an optimal combination of firm support and supple, pliable comfort.
Offered in low-, mid-, or high-back versions, each with a choice of a four-star auto-return base or fixed four-leg wire base—as well as several finish and upholstery options—Striad can be outfitted appropriately for a multitude of spaces."

Industrial Facility is a design office formed by designer Sam Hecht and architect Kim Colin in 2002. The studio follows a rigorous path of investigation and analysis in its work. Its belief is in the importance of design as a means of simplifying our lives in an inspirational way. Sam Hecht is probably best known for his contribution to the development of technically demanding projects for Muji, for which he has produced over 50 products and where he is currently Design Advisor for Europe. Other recent collaborations include the ‘Twice’ clock and ‘Once’ watch for Lexon France, the FlexLamp for Droog and the ‘Equipment’ project for Whirlpool (2004). For Epson Japan he has produced a DVD/LCD projector (2004) and the third generation Picturemate printer (2006), both of which have been awarded a G-mark from Japan, and an IF Gold Award from Germany. In total, Hecht and Industrial Facility have earned themselves over 30 design awards in the past few years.
