Skyline- an airborne city
The lamp reminds of a stylized, airborne city, a modern crystal chandelier, an edgy, corrugated apparition, all together inspired by the skyline.
“We saw it as abstract satellite cities floating above the dinner table, and called the first models Farsta and Husby” (two suburbs close to Stockholm)” says Anna Holmquist, who together with Chandra Ahlsell, forms the design duo Folkform. Three different models were designed. All of them inspired by the architecture in Sweden synonymous to the 1960 ́and 1970s. At that time a lot of focus was put on many of the suburban close to the bigger cities. Suburbans that today are seen by many as areas of disrepair. Anna is brought up in one of those, and has the form in her heart.
Skyline is available in three models: floor lamp, ceiling lamp and wall lamp, all made of white coated aluminum rough brass, or the newly launched version in stainless steel. All models provide an interesting geometric pattern of the light and the brass is untreated to allow it to age over time, a beautiful oxidized surface is to look forward to.

They work on their own independent projects as well as with clients such as Nola, Stockholm Parking and the Interactive Institute. Folkform has a strong focus on new areas of application for material and material experimentation. Chandra Ahlsell Industrial designer MFA Studied at Pratt Institute of Design in New York before moving back to Stockholm and Konstfack Industrial Design Department in 2001. Previously worked at the MarchOne arkitekter. Anna Holmquist Industrial designer MFA Studied industrial design at Goldsmiths University, London, before moving back to Stockholm in 2001 to complete her MA studies at Konstfack. Previously worked at the Saatchi Gallery and the Interactive Institute in Stockholm. Founded Folkform together with Chandra Ahlsell 2003.
