Concept
A neo-classical icon par excellence has been reinterpreted by the Italian brand Serralunga together with French designer Andrée Putman, resulting in “Belle étoile”, an elegant, comfortable and timeless piece of contemporary furniture that perfectly embodies the Serralunga Living Different concept. The skilful use of rotational plastic moulding combines with small textile components and soft, light casual cushions to suggest both practicality and elegance. This item is suitable for both indoors and out and will become a refuge for comfortable relaxation in your outdoor space or will provide some essential extra seating.
Andrée Putman says of her creation: “I always wanted to reconcile modernity with tradition and I imagined how la méridienne – a typically French piece of furniture – could be combined with plastic. A little like the artist David when he painted Mme de Récamier. This sophisticated piece of furniture, made up of a soft canapé and base, with simple, clean lines, brings a touch of class to any setting – whether placed beside a pool or in a lounge. I have chosen a combination of simple, natural shades: white, grey and ‘Putman’ blue to evoke the sweet dreams of night à la belle étoile. Thanks to its inviting, comfortable appearance Belle étoile is a perpetual invitation to indolence and contemplation.”

All the sites and objects we design are born from the conviction that they influence the lives of those who use them. We are not looking for the spectacular, the "pretty" but meaningless, or dictatorial objects that impose one way of being used. We work by listening respectfully to our clients and partners in order to conceive, together, projects that help us live, that make life easier, lighter. Without forgetting for a moment the supreme elegance that distinguishes creations by the Studio's founder.
