Blossom Portable Light, Olive Green

Blossom, is our first portable, cordless light, uniting traditional craftsmanship with the latest LED technology. The purposely petite design is inspired by the Plum blossom, the national flower of Taiwan. Its fluted bone china shade echoes the outlines of the delicate petals and is topped by a satin brass detail. Developed with functionality and flexibility in mind, Blossom easily travels from the dining table to the living room, hallway and garden or enhances the atmosphere in a restaurant or hotel lobby. Three brightness levels offer a choice of illumination: from a soft, warm glow to sufficient light to dine or entertain. The solid and robust powder coated stem, whose metal base comes in three colours, sits comfortably in the hand. Blossom brings together the Original BTC Group’s best-of-British manufacturing capabilities. While the shade is crafted by hand in Original BTC's Stoke-on-Trent pottery, the LED light source is designed and engineered in Oxford by sister brand Beadlight. Charged via USB-C, Blossom has a 7-hour run time on full brightness, extending to an impressive 20 hours on the lowest setting.

Each bone china piece is manufactured according to traditional methods by our highly skilled team in Stoke-on-Trent, where now only a handful of ceramic factories exist. The process begins with a slip (clay and water mix) being poured into moulds. Once set, the moulds are split and the shade, base or ceiling rose is removed and left overnight to dry before being sponged and fettled to remove any imperfections. The items are finally biscuit fired or dipped in a glaze and gloss-fired for a natural white finish.
