Polar Byzantine | Chapter III rug

The Polar Byzantine collection by Klaus Haapaniemi & Co. is storytelling in the form of rugs. The Polar Byzantine is a series of rugs based on an original poetic story written by award winning Finnish Author Rosa Liksom. Together with Klaus Haapaniemi they are also planning and staging the story and the fantastical arctic world into an opera where the animals escape the transforming nature into an Ice Palace far away from the earth. Klaus Haapaniemi & Co. is experimenting with delivering a comprehensive narrative through products that are part of interior or fashion outfit but remain as individual work of art. They are designed to be as captivating for the imagination as they are ornamental. The rugs are named as chapters in a story book. The Repeat pattern is simply called Polar Byzantine.
