Concept
The MEGUMI collection has a direct link to the city Tokyo in more the one way. The Creative director of PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED, once got lost in backstreets of Tokyo and asked a young Japanese girl for direction, the girl introduced herself as Megumi and the meeting turned into a long-time friendship and still is. The name is an ode to the open-minded helpful people on out there and means” blessing, favour or even beauty.”
The MEGUMI glass pendant collection has a fresh contemporary take on a traditional light design. The two shades that creates a drop gives a ambient defuse illumination in a corridor, a kitchen or in any office space which need a general soft light source.
The mouth-glown softly rounded top shape of the pendant, is in contrast to the sharp bottom edges and plays with the classic traditional comprehension of the ball light, known and designed for decades.
PWTBS design
The Megumi pendant has been designed and developed internally at the desk of Creative director / founder of PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED, Thomas Ibsen. Working for 20 years as a interior photographer he converted the his experience for visual effects into a graphic colourful collection of designs in cooperation with young talented designers from all over the world.
