Inspired by the Berber rugs of the Beni Ourain region in Morocco, these carpets are hand-knotted using traditional methods, skill, and craftsmanship from natural sheep wool. They are characterized by their dense knotting and elaborate finishing: following washing, the carpets are thoroughly brushed and combed, making their surface particularly soft. The natural lanolin content of pure sheep wool makes our carpets easy to care for and durable – they can be passed down through generations. Renowned names such as Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Eames have incorporated Beni Ourain rugs into their work, significantly contributing to their widespread presence in Western living rooms since the 1950s.
