Concept
The solid wood chair honett combines characteristic, traditional elements of a classic table with modern lightness. The turned front feet, for example, are inserted into the robust seat according to conventional construction methods and give the chair its quintessential appearance. A novelty is the insertion system for the curved rear feet, which was specially developed for the design and enables the model to be given something contemporary as well as filigree.
The history of honett begins in the product design department of Blocher Partners, who were commissioned to furnish the restaurant of the Rothaus State Brewery. The seating of the restaurant, which is located in the Black Forest, was to combine the traditional, rugged character of the region with zeitgeist and a fine, international flair.
After an initial draft of the solid wood chair, the designers at Blocher Partners consulted Horgenglarus. Together, they refined and elaborated the details of the design. Thus honett presents itself with a comfortable seat recess and a solid wood head piece that is untypically three-dimensionally milled and curved for bar tables, which is placed on the turned rear feet and mortised.
As a result, honett convinces with a solid and stable construction, yet the design appears light, reduced and elegant.
