Haworth Design Studio took a holistic, human-centred approach to creating Fern in partnership with Germany’s ITO Design. Through a combination of science and nature, the collaboration resulted in a unique, research-based, intuitive design that’s made to fit every body in comfort.

Inspired by the masterful design of its botanical namesake, Fern feels like a natural extension of you. The flexible 3D back mimics the human form to follow your every move. Inside, Fern’s Stem™ serves as a spine for a series of radiating Fronds™, each calibrated to intuitively support all the different areas of the back—from the neck to the lumbar and pelvic regions.
