The Sant Francesc Boulevard is the most important civic and polyvalent space in the centre of Vilafranca del Penedès. It covers and finalises a project that was traumatic for the town: the construction of an underground car park that entailed chopping down the existing trees, losing the pleasant shadow and a symbol of their community. We provide a new development for a place which is a landmark in the collective imaginary but suffered a traumatic disfigurement recently. Our project tries to take advantage of this emotional connection in a new way. It establishes a perceptive continuity that allows us to bring back a part of its lost memory. Trees are a key element. Many uses are possible thanks to the great versatility given to the space. We have reproduced a piece of the wine-producing landscape of Penedès in an exercise of formal abstraction, trying to promote the role of the town as showcase and wine capital of the region.

In this context COMÚ bench arises in a circular modular aggregation, with LED light integrated underneath. Moulded in grey concrete with an outer diameter of 4 meters, cover both ends of the promenade space. The COMÚ backless bench arises the need to design a meeting point, a circular modular aggregation, closed in on itself invites to get together and to a prolonged stay. It permits the use of both interior and exterior side. This urban furniture set is formed by modular elements which permit flexibility in use. The combination of the different components allows different solutions and adapts it to different situations and spaces.

With LED light integrated underneath, prolongs its use in the evening and night time.

The basic configuration in a circular modular aggregation has outer diameter of 4 meters.
