Concept
The family of indoor Belt seats, highly recognisable due to the belt-like contour that draws the profile of the body, is enriched by the addition of a new element with a Dark Brown Canaletto walnut or Black open-pore lacquered wooden base, which joins the existing Brandy-coloured varnished aluminium base version.
The warm, refined tone of the wood gives the seats a sophisticated, elegant look, effortlessly complementing the leather or fabric covering of the body and cushion.
A focus on unobtrusive but effective details is the quality that makes Belt unique: stitching, craftsmanship, concealed techniques and others borrowed from the old skills used in the 20th century cord factories. The encircling belt that breaks off and fastens on the front of the seat, enriching it with a decorative motif, is the finishing touch to a deceptively simple, appealing design created with complex, sophisticated crafting techniques. In the leather version, the belt-like central band is attached to the covering using a process typically used in high fashion leather crafting, which involves the use of a piece of bonded leather to provide rigid support. The enveloping body, completely encircled by the belt is raised off the ground by a base that lends the solidity needed by the structure to support the human body, but blends ethereally into its architectural setting. The family consists of a sofa, bergère with ottoman, armchair, a smaller lounge armchair and a small dining room armchair.
