Arena Sectional with Chaise

Dag Hjelle grew up in the furniture business. His grandfather founded the company he now runs, located in Sykkylven, a beautiful and remote area in Norway with a long history in furniture making. “Being part of this family business has taught me a lot about craftsmanship, materials and techniques,” he says. “Whether we’re designing for kings and queens [and they have] or ordinary people, we make everything with the highest level of quality.” In developing the Arena Sofa Collection (2009), Hjelle wanted to create timeless pieces with clean lines and well-constructed cushions that have just the right give for sitting or stretching out for a nap. The result has become one of the most popular sofa collections in Norway. “I like it when design surprises me,” says Hjelle. “When it surpasses my expectations.” Made in Norway.
