LEHNI: ELEGANZ UND TRADITION MADE IN SWISS Lehni is since 100 years a Swiss company with its own manufactory for metalworking. Founded as a building plumber's workshop in 1922, the company has been linked to the world of architecture and art from the very beginning. In 1956 Rudolf Lehni junior expanded the company considerably and approached the world of industrial design. This resulted in the first piece of furniture in the Lehni collection, the aluminium shelf by Swiss designer Andreas Christen, in 1964. Aluminium as a material has a long tradition in Swiss design history. The advantages of this light metal are reusability, high strength with low weight, good formability and corrosion resistance. Lehni still makes use of these positive characteristics today with reduced and durable designs. Everything from the house of Lehni is radically well thought-out and masterfully manufactured in a harmonious interplay of function, quality and formal beauty. Lehni stands for functional and durable objects of simple elegance and unmistakable style. In addition to its traditional collection of aluminium furniture, Lehni is the exclusive worldwide manufacturer of Donald Judd's furniture collection. A collection of 16 pieces of furniture made of powder-coated aluminium, copper or brass, which Judd himself designed for Lehni in 1984 on the initiative of Doris Lehni Quarella, the famous photographer and wife of Rudolf Lehni.

LEHNI STATEMENTS

We are a Swiss furniture manufacturer with our own manufactory for metal processing. In everything we do, we always concentrate on the essential: everything from the house of Lehni is radically and masterfully produced in a harmonious interplay of function, quality and formal beauty.

Aesthetics is never an end in itself, but always follows from function. At the same time, our products always remain what they are: A shelf is a shelf, just as a wardrobe is simply an elegant and practical way to store one's clothes.

Lehni stands for functional and durable objects of high utility value. Of simple elegance, and unmistakable in their style. Objects you don't want to replace because they belong to you. Objects that you never have to replace because they will last outlast time.
