The label jakob schenk was founded in September 2011. The first product, Tick table legs, became an immediate success, bringing the German Design Price for the designer Jakob Schenk as the Best Newcomer 2012.

In the meanwhile the collection has grown, but all products share the same philosophy of simplicity, sustainability and functional design. The “Design Instrumens“ of jakob schenk make useful, timeless and high quality furniture, which allow the user to play and create.

Designer Jakob Schenk (*1980) studied interior architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim. After graduation he joined the Masters Program for furniture design at the Aalto University in Helsinki, where he graduated in 2010. After coming back to Germany he founded his own company which is until now developing and locally producing furniture designed by him. He is also working as freelance designer for other companies, such as Freistil Rolf Benz.
