WANDER is the new magazine by Inkiostro Bianco: a shared journey through various steps, encounters and creative thoughts.

The trip of WANDER starts in Africa with the new ART-AI wallpaper collection

The new magazine by Inkiostro Bianco is a journey that explores the steps of the creative path that the brand experiences every day through encounters with people, collaborators, designers and projects.

WANDER is the name of the magazine and it symbolises all we are: travel, adventure and discovery filtered through the eyes of a nomad, an explorer, an adventurer who fills their existence with beauty every day through the pure observation of what surrounds them.

The destinations of the journey will be lightened by Inkiostro Bianco’s thinking and the inalienable need to explore the beauty that comes from the observation of the world around us and meeting people, transforming the upcoming ideas into design elements.

The trip of WANDER starts in Africa, a continent rich in inspiration and creative insight. If you have never seen it, you can only imagine it. Rich in both geographical and cultural diversity, it has an undisputed and irresistible charm. Those who have already been there will always suffer from “Africa blues” and those who have not yet visited it cannot help but being tremendously intrigued.

The new ART-AI wallpaper collection is the result of an idea shared with the Italian designer Giuliano Ravazzini. From his countless trips to Africa, he has brought a great lesson into his life: in extreme subtraction and simplification you can often find the key to get closer to the true meaning of things.

The ART-AI project already expresses the desire to find a point of union between two continents to recover ancient decorative techniques handed down over time according to the rules of the tribe. This experimentation gives birth to the paper-cloth with a tribal touch and Each of these is like an enigma that incites the imagination to discover the story hidden behind the shapes and signs.

The works of ART-AI propose an executive technique shared by an entire village community, which transforms waste material, paper, plants and colours into harmonious decorative compositions, as well as in everyday objects. The outcome sees cultural and operational diversities converge in highly suggestive images, that satisfy the aesthetic demands of the contemporary world.

Inkiostro Bianco was fascinated by the naturalness that these creations convey, a sensation of primordial simplicity full of meanings, and the transposition of these true works of art onto wallpapers was a natural process. The new wallpaper collection recovers ancient beauty by transforming it into a timeless material. These wallpapers are like maps of stratified material and meanings, just like the original paper-cloths.

Natural colours, ochre, tobacco and burgundy, ethnic and orthogonal geometries, inlays and the result of the oxidation effect of the maceration process are some of the features that characterise the graphic designs of the new wallpaper collection. Choosing these wallpapers will be like visiting Africa.
