The Santos plinth drawer unit, awarded at the 10th edition of the Premios Interiores

Santos has received the Best Integrated Product Design award at the 10th edition of the Premios Interiores. With this award, the competition highlighted the unique and practical nature of the plinth drawer unit, exclusively developed by the brand to maximise storage space in the kitchen.
The Santos plinth drawer unit makes the most of all the height and depth available under the worktop, expanding the capacity of base units down to the floor and making up to four tiers of storage possible. The design of its front, which tilts inwards, makes it easy to approach the work surface in an ergonomic manner, preventing tripping when working near the unit.
The Premios Interiores were created with the aim of paying tribute to the work of design, architecture, art, decoration and interior design professionals. In the 2024 edition, on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the competition focused on four core values identified by its organisers: talent, sustainability, craftsmanship and innovation. Thus, under the slogan ‘Passion for Design’, it aimed to put in the limelight ‘companies, young talent and well-established creators’ who have come up with ‘sustainable, revolutionary and/or handcrafted products’ and – through their creativity and vision – ‘have transformed the world of design’, leaving ‘their mark on our environment’.
The awards ceremony was held on 22 October at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz hotel in Madrid. Cristina Iglesias and Carmen Ageitos, from the Santos brand’s Department of Communications and Marketing, accepted the award for Best Integrated Product Design from designer Andreu Carulla.
The 10th edition of the Premios Interiores was judged by a panel of judges comprised of Pascua Ortega (decorator and interior designer), Benedetta Tagliabue (architect), Juli Capella (architect and design developer), Isabel Roig (director of Barcelona Centro de Diseño and Barcelona Design Week), Manuel Outumuro (fashion photographer), Ramon Benedito (director of Fundación Privada Elisava Escuela Universitaria), Andreu Carulla (designer), Joana Bonet (journalist and writer) and Pilar Civis (director of Interiores magazine).
